Have you become recently uninsured? Is the Annual Open Enrollment Period for obtaining health insurance closed?
Are you concerned that you may not be able to sign up for health insurance because you lost health insurance after Annual Open Enrollment ended? No need to worry! WNC Health Insurance can help you apply to enroll in a health insurance plan through a Special Enrollment Period.
If you lost your health insurance* and would like to purchase an individual health insurance plan through the federally facilitated Health Insurance Marketplace, or directly from an insurer like Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina®, there is help available to you!
Did you lose or change jobs?
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) allows for a Special Enrollment Period for people who have become recently uninsured due to loss of employment, change of employment, or a venture into self-employment.
Did you move somewhere new?
You are also eligible for ACA Special Enrollment if you have moved within the last 60 days into a new state, or even if you have moved from one region in your state into another – like moving from the eastern side of North Carolina into Western North Carolina.
Was there a death in the family?
In addition to employment changes and significant relocations, you can also qualify for ACA Special Enrollment if you lost health insurance due to the passing of an insured family member, like a spouse. During that difficult time, the team at WNC Health Insurance will work diligently to help you acquire the coverage you need for your family.
If you have become recently uninsured due to any of the circumstances described above, check with a qualified agent at WNC Health Insurance to see if you may be eligible for a Special Enrollment Period. You have just 60 days from the date you become uninsured to apply for coverage.
* Loss of health insurance must be due to a Qualifying Life Event to be eligible for a Special Enrollment Period
